Understanding Hormone Therapies
Hormone therapies are critical for long term health and wellness. Humans can start to under produce hormones in there early thirties depending on genetics and lifestyle. Thyroid, without a doubt, is the most common hormone to become clinically deficient for women/men by the mid thirties/forties. That means you have the symptoms of low thyroid which are (1)mentally tired for no good reason or (2) physically tired or both. Your body is tired, you want to exercise but just cant make your body "go". Your mind is tired, you want a nap in the afternoon at 35 years old!!!. Not normal. One or both of these symptoms are the main low thyroid symptoms. Then "brain fog" is number (3) on the list. You just feel mentally slow or dumb especially in the afternoon. Then there are other low thyroid symptoms: constipation, hair falling out, feeling cold for no reason, cannot lose weight when dieting, and more. If you have 2 of these symptoms or more, you need thyroid hormone replacement therapy. Here is the problem. Your blood test for thyroid will be normal 90% of the time. So your doctor will say that you cannot be low in thyroid because your blood test is normal. That is crap!! Not true!! Medicine has been teaching us doctors the wrong hormone science for 60 years. The belief that the blood level of a hormone reflects the tissue level (your body level) is FALSE!!!!! There has never been one medical study in the history of medicine that showed the blood level of a hormone correlated with the tissue level of that hormone and also correlated with a specific set of symptoms at the time of the blood test (what I just said is a lot, read it again). So how does a doctor then correctly diagnose hormone deficiency? Symptom analysis. Here is the proof of this: How many of you reading this have the low thyroid symptoms I listed above, and had your doctor say your blood test is fine, so go away you cannot be low in thyroid. A lot of you, that's how many. However, for 60 years the doctors that ignored the blood test result and treated the patients symptoms anyway, those doctors get the results and fix the patients energy problems. I learned this 25 years ago from the doctors that came before me. And now i get all the great results too. Once a doctor starts treating patients symptoms that doctor never goes back to the failed blood test solution. So in your weight loss journey with me, i will treat you if needed. Hormone therapies are natural and good for you in every way. It is a life changing experience to go from deficient thyroid to optimal thyroid. Finally, hormone therapies are more complicated than i am saying here. And blood testing is critical for treating hormone deficiencies, just not in diagnosing. I have just given you an over simplified but accurate explanation of complex metabolic reactions. So Finally, to conclude, there are reasons doctors are taught wrong. Its not a conspiracy process to keep you fat and tired. So here is one of many reasons why we doctors are taught wrong: This is why low thyroid levels don't show up in the blood until you are severely deficit.(with exceptions) We learned 60 years ago that high thyroid blood levels always correlate with high tissue levels and high thyroid symptoms. That is true. So then we assumed as doctors that since high blood levels meant high tissue levels, then normal blood levels meant normal tissue levels. But that was an assumption(without any medical science to back it up). It implies then if you have normal blood levels then your tissue levels cannot be low. So your low thyroid symptoms cannot be from low thyroid because your blood test for thyroid is normal. But that is not true 90% of the time. You are low in thyroid. But doctors in this case just cannot get past the false belief about blood testing. So why don't low tissue levels of thyroid show up in the blood? That is complex physiology and cell molecular biology. But a simple answer that is accurate is just this: The blood level of any hormone at any moment in time just partially represents the daily production of that hormone. It does not represent the tissue level at that same moment in time when the blood test was drawn (again, a mouthful, read it again). There is much more to this. So if you love the medical science and details, go to Youtube and search "drdebunk". (that's me) you should see some of my videos come up. Go to the channel and find the thyroid videos. I have a couple that explain this in more detail.
What hormone therapies are
Hormone therapies are controlled by physicians because the main hormones are prescibed by physicians. But hormone therpies are really natural. Supplementing with hormones is good for you in every way when done correctly. But doctors are licenced disease treaters and dont know how to use hormones for optimizing health. This is why patients get so frustrated with the way the average doctor uses hormones. Plus there are drug copy cat hormones and they should never be used.
Energy, metabolism, and wellness
Thyroid hormones can influence energy levels, appetite regulation, and metabolic efficiency. 80% of your perception of mental and physical energy is due to thyroid tissue levels. This is why it is critical in weight management.
Why physician evaluation matters
A physician-led assessment helps rule out underlying conditions, interpret lab results correctly, and ensure treatment is safe. This approach protects long-term health while focusing on measurable progress.
Personalized treatment decisions
No two patients are the same. If hormone-related therapy is considered, it is tailored to your clinical profile, current medications, and weight-loss goals—with ongoing monitoring for accountability and safety.
